Dear Parents,
I am
honored and excited to be the new principal at St. Joseph School. I look
forward to being in partnership with you – the first and primary educators of
your children.
As a brief
introduction, I’ve been in education for many years – as a teacher, choral and
drama director, professional developer, and academic dean. I have a BA in English and education, a
M.Ed. in Education and Management and recently completed the coursework for an
Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. I
have also supervised student teachers for St. Joseph College. I love learning, and I hope to model
and celebrate the excitement (and effort) of learning with your children.
I am
blessed with a wonderful family, my husband Greg, and three grown children, all
of whom attended K-12 in parochial schools, an investment worth every
sacrifice, knowing it has helped form their Christian faith as it prepared them
academically. My granddaughter,
Riley, will continue in that tradition as she attends Catholic school this
year. I share this with you
because I want you to know how deeply I value education integrated with faith
which teaches our children to live as Jesus taught us. I have invested in it personally and
professionally, and I am thrilled to continue doing so with you.
Walking
into the school, I saw a banner which said St. Joseph School “academic
excellence” and “gospel values” since 1907. What wonderful guiding principles. I hope to continue that remarkable tradition by working to
create a Christ-centered environment dedicated to the spiritual, academic, and
social-emotional growth of every child who enters our school. Each of your children is created
by God with unique strengths and talents.
What a joy to work together to nurture their learning and growing.
I am so blessed to be a part of
the school community. I look
forward to building relationships with the faculty, parents and students at St.
Joseph’s. Working together we will
help our children succeed and flourish – academically and spiritually to God’s
glory.
Yours In
Christ,
Kathleen
